The Influence of Fairness Experience on Primary School Children’s Helping Behavior

This study investigated the influence of fairness experience on 100 primary school children’s helping behavior under different procedural fairness information and distributive fairness information by using computer competition task and real helping situations task. The results show that: (1) Primary school children’s fairness experience had an effect on their helping behavior. The number of helping behavior of procedural fairness and distributive fairness group was significantly more than those of procedural fairness and distributive unfairness group， procedural unfairness and distributive fairness group， procedural unfairness as well as distributive unfairness group. While there was no significant difference between the helping behavior of the latter three groups. (2) The girls were more inclined to help others than the boys. Our findings suggest that the higher the level of primary school children’s fairness experience is， the more the number of their helping behavior is.
