英文摘要 | How to guarantee the quality of teaching and implement the goal of general education has become a worldwide problem in the reform of general education in universities. Attaching little importance to teaching, low engagement in learning, derailment from the course system, and non-professional tendency are four main causes of "low performance courses" in general education. The cyclical quality survey of general education core curriculum in Fudan University and Peking University, including three groups of 14 basic comparable indicators, can characterize the teaching quality of each course, module and overall general curriculum from multiple perspectives. Based on the survey data, two types of "high efficiency courses", "low performance course", "pit lesson" and other two types of general education courses are identified by a combination of multiple indicators. Also, management recommendations are given correspondently. This tool consciously avoids certain defects of generic students' evaluations of teaching. However, there are still some negative factors that lead to low performance general education courses at the institutional mechanism level. |
