Development of Less-Commonly Taught Languages in China in the “Internet +” Era

“Internet +” is now generating significant impact on different aspects and arenas including education. The development of less-commonly taught languages， which is now experiencing rapid growing partly due to the “Belt and Road” Initiative， also faces the challenge of adapting to the trends of “Internet +” education. This paper discusses the solutions addressing such challenge emerged around less-commonly taught languages through the perspectives of language course design， teaching practice and teacher development etc.
