A Case Study of the Support System for A pupil with Autism in Inclusive Education: a Developmental Ecology Perspective

Children with autism benefit from inclusive education considering their deficits in social interaction. However， effective inclusive education must be provided with high-quality systematic supports. A case study was conducted using semi-structured in-depth interviews and observation to investigate a primary school student with autism who is now receiving education in general school. And from the developmental ecology framework of support system consisting of self-support， family-support， school-support， community-support and social support， the real situation of the whole support system for the case was analyzed， the cooperation between the systems and needs of each systems were discussed. Furthermore， the research analyzes the effective elements of the supporting system for inclusive education， mainly including abilities and traits of a child， strong family support， acceptance from others， the professional quality of the school and powerful professional support. The suggestions on legislative guarantee， economic support， administration， professional training as well as team work are .provided.
