Investigation of Web-based Autonomous Learning and its Assessment Activities in the Tertiary Blended Learning Context
This study conducted an investigation through questionnaire surveys into web-based autonomous learning and its assessment activities in a blended learning context among colleges and universities from six provinces. Results revealed that: (1)most students under study were positive about autonomous learning， but their autonomous learning ability was not satisfactory; (2)either the effect of autonomous learning or its assessment practices left much room for improvement although most colleges and universities under study had both the environment and assessment practices for autonomous learning; and (3)it was not only feasible but also necessary to implement the principle of assessment for learning and autonomy. Based on the above findings， suggestions are made as follows: (1) constructing a teacher-student interactive autonomous learning mode; (2) deploying an assessment framework based on the principle of assessment for learning and autonomy; (3) implementing teacher professional development programs.
