Towards the Open Learning and Research Era: An Interview with International Distance Education Pioneer Dr. Terry Anderson

2004年，《开放教育研究》曾访谈过国际远程教育先驱特里·安德森(Terry Anderson)教授。该访谈以融于远程教育教与学的教育技术为主题，从宏观视野对加拿大远程教育的管理与实践以及安德森教授本人的工作进行了较为全面的介绍。过去十年，国内外远程教育飞速发展，作为这一领域先行者的安德森教授又提出了交互等效原理，用以指导MOOCs和开放教育资源的发展。迄今，他已出版(包括合作出版)11本专著，其中《远程教育的理论与实践》(已译成中文)2009年获远程教育领域的最高荣誉———查尔斯·E·魏德曼奖;他与乔恩·德龙(Jon Dron)提出的三代远程教育学理论被译成多种语言在世界传播;他还提出基于社会媒体的群体教学理念引领开放联通时代的学习，并设计了一个名为Landing的“精品”社交网络以充分发挥小组、网络和集合体三种社会组织对学习的促进和支持作用。他主编十年的开放期刊《国际开放远程学习研究评论》(International Review of Research on Distance and Open Learning， IRRODL)成为国际远程教育领域被SSCI收录的两本期刊之一。本访谈主要围绕其研究历程和重要研究成果:三代远程教育、等效交互原理、基于社会媒体的开放学习与研究，以及当前风靡世界的大规模开放在线课程等展开，希望能为读者呈现社会化网络时代学习和研究日益开放的综合图景和成功案例，也期待我国未来的学习和研究能够日渐开放。

The Journal of Open Education Research (JOER) published an interview with international distance and online learning pioneer Dr. Terry Anderson in 2004. The interview introduced the distance education management and practice in Canada and his research from a macro perspective， which systematically focused on the topic of the educational technology in distance education. Distance and online learning developed rapidly over the past decades. As the pioneer in this field， Dr. Terry Anderson proposed the interaction equivalence theorem to guide the design of MOOCs and OERs. He has published many influential papers and 11 books in distance education and educational technology. One of them， Theory and Practice of Online Learning， got the 2009 Charles E. Wedemeyer Award. The three generations of distance education pedagogy， which was proposed by him and Jon Dron in 2011， has been translated into different languages. He proposed the idea of teaching crowd with social media to lead the learning in open connected age. He designed a boutique social networked learning community - Landing to enhance and support learning with the advantage of three social structure (group， net and set). He was the editor of the International Review of Research in Online and Distance Education for 10 years and his enhancements contributed to it being one of the only two distance educational journals in the Social Science Cite Index list. This interview is focused on his research experience， MOOCs， and his most important research achievement: three generation of distance education， interaction equivalence theorem， open learning， and scholarship with social media. The hope is that this interview will show readers Dr. Terry Anderson’s long term vision and insights of open learning and scholarship in social network era， and also help promote high-quality learning and research in open education.
