英文摘要 | This paper intends to study the development process of school-based curriculum in Taiwan at the junior high school level, such as the context and route of teacher-centered transformation and difficulties this transformation process may experience. This study argues that the development of school-based curriculum can promote the overall development of the school. Moreover, the bottom-up school-based curriculum transformation promotes interdisciplinary integration, teacher collaboration and their professional growth. In addition, it is suggested that the school - based curriculum transformation which is teacher-centered mainly relies on supports provided by the school environment. Nevertheless, the transformation will encounter different kinds of difficulties, such as insufficient professional capabilities which teachers may have, heavy workloads which school administration may face, and a possibility which a key person's job may unexpectedly stop due to sudden retirement or decease. It concludes that the school curriculum transformation can draw lessons based on the experience of this case and furthermore, school administrators should propose some specific solutions in order to cope with heavy routine affairs which the school currently faces. |
