| 中文摘要 | 臺師大自2021年推動雙語教育以來,全英語授課(EMI)已展現具體成果。本文透過教師意見調查,探討EMI教學的推動經驗與挑戰。結果顯示,多數教師肯定EMI有助於提升學校國際競爭力與學生國際視野,但亦指出學生英語能力落差與備課負擔為主要挑戰。為此,臺師大逐步建構學生語言支持、教師專業增能與國際合作三大推動機制,形成系統化的EMI教學環境。本研究建議持續深化東亞區域大學交流,分享課程設計與品質保證經驗,推動兼具在地化與國際化的高品質EMI教學,促進學生全球競爭力與臺灣高等教育國際影響力。 |
| 英文摘要 | Since National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) launched its bilingual education initiative in 2021, significant achievements have been made in English-medium instruction (EMI) courses. This paper examines faculty perspectives on EMI courses to explore the experiences and challenges involved in implementing EMI. The findings indicate that most instructors recognize EMI as enhancing the university’s international competitiveness and students’ global outlook. However, they also identify disparities in students’ English proficiency and increased preparation workload as major challenges.In response, NTNU has progressively developed a three-pronged framework that includes student language support, faculty professional development, and international collaboration– establishing a more systematic model for EMI implementation. The study recommends further strengthening academic exchange among East Asian universities to share best practices in curriculum design and quality assurance. It also calls for the advancement of high-quality EMI that balances localization and internationalization to foster students’ global competitiveness. |
