| 英文摘要 | This article describes an elementary school principal’s innovative leadership in the task of “refocusing and updating the school vision” and continuous learning to improve teachers’ teaching quality, student learning performance, and overall school performance. In addition to literature review discussing concepts of principal learning innovative leadership and principals’ learning approaches to innovative leadership, this article uses interview data from an elementary school principal to explore the innovative leadership actions of this case principal who gradually lead the school to adjust the school vision. The results show that the principal of the elementary school in the case demonstrated the essence of learning by doing and mainly learned to complete this task through innovative leadership behaviors such as self-renewal and collegial learning. The innovative leadership actions included1. reviewing and revising the school vision with school colleagues; 2. articulating and demonstrating the concepts of the school vision; 3. designing and implementing programs and activities that help implement the school vision; and 4. obtaining feedback and continuously adjusting the image and reality of the school vision. |
