英文摘要 | Both qualitative and quantitative paradigms were employed in this research, and data were collected through classroom observation, a questionnaire, and semi-structured interviews with English majors who had experienced CBI (Content-based Instruction) courses in the first semester of their university study. After analyzing the data collected, problems were discovered in such aspects as the acquisition of pronunciation, the learning of English vocabulary, the training of language skills, the selection of learning materials, the participation in class activities, the understanding of content, and the attitude to CBI courses. Some strategies considered as effective by students were presented as well to cope with the problems and were analyzed in detail. The findings are likely to help students and teachers with their learning and teaching of CBI courses, and shed light on the further application of CBI to the education of English majors in the Chinese context. |
