National Identity Building in Hong Kong's Citizenship Education Policies: Dilemma and Solutions
National identity is not only a core element of citizenship， but also core content of citizenship education. As an important part of civic education， school citizenship education is an important approach to building the national identity of the Youth. In recent years， a series of social movements in Hong Kong have displayed a trend of younger age and caused widespread debates in Hong Kong， Mainland and the world. This paper uses historical analysis to track the evolution of citizenship education policies in Hong Kong， analyzes the reasons for the lack of citizen identity education in more than 100 years， and then puts forward several countermeasures to solve present -day predicament from perspectives of legitimacy， governance， culture and education.
