The College Entrance Examination Reform: Ideal Goals and Realistic Challenges

The college entrance examination reform has put forwards a kind of multi-dimensional admission mechanism， which is based on the unified college entrance examination， high school achievement tests， and reference to the materials of comprehensive competencies evaluation. This mechanism is changing the operation of high schools， as well as colleges and universities' admission. Based on the analysis of the pilot situation of Zhejiang Province and Shanghai Municipality， this paper analyzes the set of selective subject combination， the arrangement of teaching， the inequality of the different subjects and the psychological impact on students in high schools， and also analyzes the selective subject requirements， the admission mechanism， the differences in freshmen's quality and academic preparation， and the specific problems of the pilot phase faced by colleges and universities. This paper tries to sort out the ideal goals of the college entrance examination reform and the realistic challenges derived during the process of pilot progress， in order to provide references for the improvement of the college entrance examination reform policy.
