词源学研究可使我们发本求真。维柯基于“真理即创造”之哲学基础,从词源学视角论述了他的人文教育思想:依循禀性而为之教育,调和感觉与理智之关系,促进身心和谐之教育以及重视道德之教育。它对现代的启示为:顺应儿童天性是教育之发端;培养创造力为教育之命脉;促进整体和谐称教育之核心;导向成人之果系教育之宗旨;涵育自我选择谓教育之精神。

The study of etymology enables people to trace to the root for the truth.Based on the philosophy of“the truth itself is made”(verum is factum),Vico’s humanistic educational thoughts are expounded as following:to educate by nature,to reconcile the relationship between sense and intellect,to promote education of physical and mental harmony,and to attach importance to moral education.It has implications for modern time:to conform to the nature of children is the inception of education;to cultivate the creativity is the lifeline of education;to promote harmony is the core of education;to prepare to be an adult is the aim of education;and to enable self decision making is the spirit of education.
