| 英文摘要 | This study analyzed the characteristics of the Institut français de l’éducation (IFÉ; literally the “French Institute of Education”), the critical role of the prominent scholar Louis Legrand, and the institute’s connections with the International Bureau of Education (IBE). The analysis began by tracing the historical development of the IFÉ, from its founding in 1879 as le Musée pédagogique (the Educational Museum) to its current form as the IFÉ. Subsequently, the study outlined key accomplishments of the IFÉ, including its leadership in both domestic and international educational research; its collaboration with education practitioners and “actors” to engage in reflective, innovative, and experimental educational research and policy reform; and its role in cultivating high-quality educators through a range of training programs. The study then focused on the work of Louis Legrand — a French philosopher and educational reformer whose doctoral dissertation advisor was the renowned hermeneutic philosopher Paul Ricoeur — highlighting the enduring influence of his research and practical initiatives within the IFÉ. Finally, this study examined several major historical connections between the IFÉ — particularly during its distinguished era as the Institut pédagogique national (IPN, literally the “National Pedagogical Institute”) — and the IBE. These connections included the IBE’s influence on the New Education Movement in Europe; the International Affairs links; the major academic journals currently published by the IFÉ; and the IBE’s role in institutionalizing the term “les sciences de l’éducation (the science of education)” in the naming of education departments across French higher education. |
