The Development and Current State of Student Mobile Phone Addiction at Private Universities

本研究目的有二：首先，發展並驗證大學生手機成癮量表的信效度；其次，探討大學生手機成癮之現況。本研究以台灣三所私立大專院校之379位大學生為研究對象，問卷回收率為75.8%。使用的 研究工具有手機成癮量表、手機使用情況調查表、賴氏人格測驗及Rosenberg's自尊量表四種。在手機成癮量表施測後，以t檢定、單因子變異數、驗證式因素分析及積差相關分析獲得，主要研究結果有以下幾點：一、驗證性因素分析粹取出時間管理與問題、學業問題與影響、現實替代等三個因素；二、女大學生的時間管理與問題得分較男大學生的得分高、不同年級的大學生於現實替代的得分存在顯著的差異性；三、手機使用情況、人格特質與手機成癮的分量表之間存在正相關，而自尊則與手機成癮的分量表之間存在負相關。最後，本研究對未來研究提出相關建議。

The main purposes of this study are to examine the reliability of data on the scale of student mobile phone addiction and to make an analysis of the current situation. For this study 379 students were sampled in three private universities in Taiwan. The response rate of the questionnaires was 75.8%. Research tools used in this study include: a form on the scale of mobile phone addiction, an inventory of mobile phone usage, Lai's Personality Scale, and Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale. For data analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA, confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis were used. The results of this study are as follows: a) Three issues came to light in this study: relation to academic problems, issues of time management, and substitution for reality; b) There were significant differences between genders regarding influence upon academic problems. There were also significant differences of grade in substitution for reality; c) There are positive relationships between the subscales of mobile phone usage, personality and mobile phone addiction. There are negative relationships between the subscales of mobile phone addiction and self esteem. Based upon the findings, a relevant discussion and proposals for future directions are included.
