英文摘要 | At the time when the Education Research Section was founded in Beijing Higher Normal School, there was argument to change Higher Normal School to college and to abolish Higher Normal School, in which the placement of Department of Education is one of the core issues. The supporter of abolition of Higher Normal School held the view of imitating the Teachers College of Columbia University and setting Department of Education at university. Higher Normal School set the Education Research Section when its position was under threat. The motivation is Chen Bao-quan's or even the Higher Normal School's emphasis on education research as well as the fostering of education academic specialists; the realistic starting point is to fight for the only institution with the spirit of education and prepare for the upgrading to university status. The format and content of Education Research Section was learnt from the Teachers College of Columbia University. Education Research Section was involved in the “principal unrest” and encountered many complex practical problems after its establishment. |
