A Study on the Standard Of Mentor Teacher Program Operation for Maritime and Fisheries Vocational High Schools
The purpose of this study is to construct the mentor teacher program operation standards for maritime and fisheries vocational high school(MFVHS). The mixed method was used including panel discussions and questionnaire survey to collect the data. The panel discussions were held two times. The first aimed to check, add, delete or merge the stages, promote focus, and specific measures case by case in the questionnaire draft of the mentor teacher program operation standards for MFVHS. The questionnaire for mentor teacher program operation standards for MFVHS has been prepared by the results of the first panel discussion and conducted to survey the population of educators from 5 MFVHS, including principals, directors, team leaders and teachers. 443 copies were conducted, 336 returned, and the returned rate was 75.85%. The data of survey was analyzed with descriptive statistics. The second aimed to add, delete or merge the stages, promote focus, and specific measures of the mentor teacher program operation standards for MFVHS according to practice opinion and the result of questionnaire survey. Finally, the mentor teacher program operation standard for MFVHS including 3 stages, 10 promote focus, and 36 specific measures is addressed after synthesizing the result of literature review, 2 panel discussions and questionnaire survey. The standard can provide the reference for MFVHS to design mentor teacher program operation scheme.
