Public Attitudes toward Higher Education in the United States: An Analysis of Survey Data from 1993 to 2009

自1993年以来，美国两个非政府机构——公共议程基金会和全国公共政策与高等教育研究中心单独或联合开展了七次关于公众对高等教育热点问题的认识与态度的调查。调查主要涉及以下几个问题：高等教育的重要性和必要性；高等教育的入学机会；学生的责任和义务；大学学费；高等院校的教育质量。这些调查为美国高等教育政策的制定与完善提供了一定依据，也使高等院校的内部改革和发展变革更有针对性。

Since 1993 Public Agenda and the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education in America have completed a series of studies on public attitudes toward higher education. These studies revolve around the following issues, the importance and necessity of higher education, access to higher education, the responsibility of students, the costs of higher education, the quality of higher education. These studies have provided evidence for policy making and reform in higher education, as well as for the development and innovation of higher education institutions in America.
