在长期沦为西方殖民地的历史背景下，非洲高校学生事务的形成与发展也深深地被刻上殖民化的烙印。独立后的非洲各国高校学生事务经历了从殖民化到本土化的”扬弃”历程，成为非洲各国高等教育的重要组成部分。

With a long history of colonization of Africa by the western countries， the forming and developing of the student affairs in African colleges and universities were destined to be branded with colonization deeply. The student affairs in Africa have gone through a sublation process developing from colonization to localization， and have been a most important component of its higher education.
