Area Studies and the New Development of Comparative Education in China

The modern area study arose during World WarⅡ， focusing on political， economic， social and cultural issues in some areas. The methodology and research paradigms of the modern area study have been widely used in humane studies， social sciences and part of natural sciences. Comparative education faces many crises， and the solutions lie in the theoretical and practical innovation. In order to develop comparative education theories in China， researchers should focus on area study and follow its specific methodology.
