Online Teacher Professional Development（oTPD）：A New Issue to Teacher Education

Teacher professional development has been viewed as a key to success for improving students’ achievements and facilitating school and education innovation in the changing world. Recently， as a new alternative model to conventional teacher professional development， online Teacher Professional Development（oTPD）is becoming a new issue of concern for more and ore researchers. This paper provides a simple definition of oTPD， explores its origins， analyzes its potential advantages and challenges， and finally discusses some issues needed to be further explored in the area.
