On the Research of Gifted Underachievement

我国对超常儿童心理发展与教育的研究始自1978年。这些研究主要集中在从正面研究超常儿童的心理与教育问题，探讨如何适应超常儿童的特点及需要，实施相应的教育以促进其发展，尤其是发挥其智力优势，促进超常儿童在学业方面的加速发展。

This paper gives summary and comments about the research of gifted underachievement in western countries. The following topics are discussed： the various concepts of gifted underachievement and their contradictions， the types， amount， age of onset and characteristics of gifted underachievers， the factors related to gifted underachievement， and the intervention in the gifted underachievers and the new tendency.
