A Study of School Factors Affecting Students' Choice of Senior High and Vocational School

鼓勵國中畢業生就近入學，為近年來台灣後期中等教育的改革方向，也被視為是實施十二年國民基本教育的基礎。然而，就近入學是否能夠符合學生就學選擇的需求，則是令人關注的議題。本研究旨在探討影響國中應屆畢業生高中職選擇之學校因素，提出較具系統性的分類，分別為學習品質因素、交通距離因素與行銷宣傳因素，並分析成績高低與影響因素的交互作用。本研究以高雄縣國中三年級學生為對象，進行問卷調查，共有16所國中631位學生參與研究。研究結果如下：一、學校的學習品質為學生選擇高中職的主要考量因素；二、成績高低不同的學生對於高中職選擇學校因素的重視程度不同；三、普遍提升各社區高中職品質以促進就近入學。最後，本研究提出政策上的建議供參。

Encouraging nearby-enrolment for senior high and vocational school has been the main policy in Taiwan in recent years. However， in view of the unequal distribution of upper secondary schooling resource， it is worth studying whether the encouraging nearby-enrolment policy meets students' need for school choice and what students' preferences are in their choice of upper secondary school. This study aimed 1. to identify a more systematic classification of school factors that affect students' choice of upper secondary school， and 2. to investigate the importance of these factors. Three factors were identified in this study: academic quality factor， distance convenience factor， and marketing factor. The method of this study was questionnaire survey. 631 students in grade 9 from 16 junior high schools in Kaohsiung County participated in this study. The results of the analysis suggested that school's academic quality is the most important factor in students' choice of school， while distance， though important， is not the deciding factor. Furthermore， students with different levels of academic performance varied in their preference in choosing school. Finally， based on these findings， some implications were discussed.
