Restating the Key Points in Writing the Reports of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
The purpose of this paper was to provide the writing frameworks for the researchers in preparing manuscripts about scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). This paper also aimed to clarify SoTL scholars’ concept about scholarship of teaching and learning. We emphasized six questions as the writing frameworks that SoTL manuscripts need to address including: (1) What are the main purposes of SoTL in your context? (2) What are the instructional strategy or learning environment that you design and implement? (3) What are the research methodology that you adopt? (4) What outcomes of SoTL are most significant in your context? (5) What aspects of your context most influence SoTL practice? (6) How to write the effective abstract? Taken together, these frameworks can be guideposts for refining the research manuscripts in SoTL and articulating a vision of a scholarship that enhances teaching and learning in higher education.
