英文摘要 | In recent years there has been growing interest among governments and educators about improving financial knowledge and behavior due to concerns over the global economy. Research suggests that most financial attitude and behavior is learned through the influence of socialization agents during the adolescent years. Parents are probably the most instrumental in teaching young people the basic rational aspects of money, such as handling money wisely, understanding consumption-saving relationships, obtaining appropriate information before investment, and properly accessing financial services, and peers tend to have the same influence. This study used a survey to collect quantitative data, results show that parental assistance with financial matters is the best indicator of financial socialization. The construct financial-learning-from- parents can affect college students’ financial literacy and financial behavior intention, but do not have direct effect on students’ financial attitude. Peers had negative influence on financial literacy of students, but showed no effect on financial attitude. Regarding the impact of financial-learning-from-parents on students’ financial literacy, multiple-group analysis shows that students from high-SES households are higher than those from middle and low- SES households; while considering the impact of the construct financial-learning- from-peers on these financial literacy, result shows the contrary effect. |
