The Correlation among Preschool Teachers’ Personality Traits, Job Stress and Teaching Effectiveness
本研究旨在探討教保服務人員人格特質、工作壓力與教學效能之關係。本研究採用問卷調查法，普查103學年度桃園市（縣立合併後現已為桃園市）公立幼兒園現職教保服務人員，共計發出395份問卷，回收382份，有效樣本為371份。調查所得資料以描述性統計分析（descriptive statistics analysis）、二因子多變量變異數分析（two-way MANOVA）、皮爾森積差相關（Pearson product-moment correlation）等統計方法進行資料分析。研究結果如下：一、教保服務人員人格特質傾向以「外向性」人格為多數；二、教保服務人員人格特質傾向在「任教級別」有顯著差異；三、嚴謹性人格特質的教保服務人員在「整體工作壓力」及「班級教學」層面的工作壓力感受程度高於開放性人格特質之教保服務人員；四、教保服務人員工作壓力為中低程度，以「工作負荷」感受較沉重；五、教保服務人員整體工作壓力在「最高學歷」、「聘任資格」、「證書取得」、「行政職務」、「幼兒園規模」及「任教級別」上有顯著差異；六、教保服務人員教學效能為高效能，以「教學互動」表現較佳；七、教保服務人員整體教學效能在「教學年資」、「婚姻狀態」及「子女數」上有顯著差異；八、教保服務人員工作壓力與教學效能間呈現顯著負相關。最後，根據研究結論並綜合相關文獻及研究心得，對教育機關、教保服務人員及未來研究提出具體建議。
The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between preschool teachers’ personality traits, job stress and teaching effectiveness. The participants in the survey were 371 preschool teachers in public kindergartens in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, two-way MANOVA, and Pearson correlation. The results revealed the following: 1) Preschool teachers’ personality traits were “outgoing.” 2) Personality traits had significant differences in “level of teaching.” 3) Teachers with the “conscientiousness” traits had more job stress in “overall job stress” and “class teaching” versus ones with the “openness” traits. 4) Teachers’ job stress was at a medium-to-low level and “work load” caused was the most severe job stress. 5) Teachers’ overall job stresses was significant different in “degree,” “teaching position,” “obtaining diploma,” “administrative position,” “size of kindergarte” and “level of teaching.” 6) Teachers’ teaching effectiveness was at high level s and was performed better when they possessed “teaching interaction.” 7) Teachers’ overall teaching effectivness was significanty different in tepending on, “the length of teaching,” “marital status” and “number of children.” 8) Teachers’ job stress was negatively correlated with teaching effectiveness. Based on the results of the present study, the suggestions about the implications of the correlation between preschool teachers’ personality traits, job stress and application of teaching effectiveness are provided to education administrative departments, preschool educators and to guide future research.
