当今是一个社会不断变革的时代，终身教育受到越来越多人的关注。“学习社会”正是基于人的终身发展和完整的人的教育所倡导的理念。“学习社会”中的大学，作为一个特殊的教育阶段，有其特殊的任务和应然的状态，同时这一理念也对当下的高等教育发展提出了批判。因而有必要对“学习社会”理念中的大学的内涵和本质作出一定的分析和讨论，也为今天的中国大学发展提供一定的借鉴。

Today is an era of ever-changing society，simultaneously，Life-long Education is given more and more attention. Learning society is a kind of concept which is advocated based on the lifelong development of man and the whole education of man. The university in the learning society，as a special phase of education，has its own particular mission and idealistic state. At the same time，this idea also criticizes the development of high education in contemporary era. Therefore，it is necessary to analyze and discuss the connotation and essence of the university in learning society. It also provides a reference for the development of university in China nowadays.
