Study on the Causes and Prevention of Junior High School Bullying from the Perspective of Social Control Theory

In this study， the quality monitoring data of 103 junior high school students in western China was selected， and the Hershey’s theory of social control was used as the analysis framework. Using statistical methods such as regression and structural equation modeling， the impact of the four elements of social control on bullying behavior of junior high school students was analyzed. The results of the study indicate that social control variables have a significant impact on bullying behavior. Among them， school attachment， commitment， belief and peer attachment have a significant negative impact on bullying behavior. involvement， family attachment and teacher attachment have a significant positive impact on bullying behavior. Therefore， it is proposed that the prevention of school bullying schools should be combined with “management” and “education” to strengthen students’ ideological education and optimize school education and teaching management. It is necessary to attach importance to moral education and lead students to the direction of their ideological values; carry out career planning education to guide students in setting life goals; implement comprehensive practical activity courses and standardize students’ practical participation. At the same time， attention is paid to the attachment of students to their parents， classmates， teachers， and schools， in order to strengthen the student’s connection with the society and thereby suppress students’ bullying behavior.
