Adaptive Learning System for Research-oriented Course: Idea, Strategy, and Practice
Artificial intelligence and adaptive technology have became the focus of educational technology research field， it is of great significance to explore the application and practice of adaptive technology in research-based learning field. Through carded the connotation， theoretical foundation and present implementation of research-based curriculum， based on the survey results of Shanghai high school carrying out the research-based curriculum， this paper develops an adaptive learning system for research-oriented course， aiming to use informational technology to support the school to implement the instruction， management and evaluation of researchbased curriculum， and assisting students’ personalized research-based learning. This paper designs the conceptual model and core intelligence components of the adaptive learning system by adopting the design-based research approach. The core intelligence components include personalized learner model， procedural and methods knowledge model， personalized instruction strategy model. And a intelligence information perception and recognition engine and intelligence inference engine are designed to support the operation and update of the three models， in order to realize providing learners with more accurate personalized learning service. And based on the adaptive learning system， our research design a blend research-based learning model to realize the combination of online and offline learning， so as to promote students’ continuous and in-depth learning. Then this paper gives an overview of the applications of the adaptive learning system， and introduces the implementation of the blend research-oriented learning model with a real instruction case， so that provide reference for teachers to carry out research-based curriculum. Finally， summarizes the applications of the adaptive learning system and puts forward the future research direction.
