Focusing on Teacher’s Professional Devecopment: The Analysis and Insight of Core Competencies of Quality Matters in the US
The quality of online courses is a critical while not addressed issue in Chinese online education. There are many factors which might affect the online course system evaluation and quality， such as the diversities and technologies rapid replacement of online courses. The purpose of this study is to give farther insight into the Quality Matters by analyzing its unique rubric system， peer review process， diverse evaluation program and philosophy of putting roots down in the colleges. The core competencies were revealed in how Quality Matters has become the leader of online course evaluation and quality assurance in the US. This study indicated that Quality Matters also has broad international perspectives and is based on solid educational technology research. It was discussed about how China can learn from the best practices of online courses evaluation in the US.
