Construction of a Chinese Version of the Community of Inquiry Measurement Instrument
The Community of Inquiry Model is an effective， dynamic， and process-oriented teaching model in the online and blended learning field. Taking Chinese college students as research sample， this paper employed the empirical research method and developed a Chinese version of the Community of Inquiry ( Col) measurement instrument. In the stage of empirical research， two groups of data were collected， including total 452 valid questionnaires. The Cron-bach ，s a of the whole instrument was 0. 955. The results of exploratory factor analysis revealed the structure model of the Chinese version Community of Inquiry ( Col) instrument composed of 27 items ： cognitive presence， teaching presence and social presence. The confirmatory factor analysis proved that the hypothesized three-factor structure model with 27 items was verified as a good fit for the data. The research results indicated that this measurement instrument was of good reliability and validity. Therefore，this instrument may be used as an effective tool for researches on Chinese college students， community of inquiry and online and blended learners， experience.
