Toward a Superior STEM Curriculum Development： Commentary for 2017 National STEM Education Research and Practice Summit

2017 National STEM Education Research and Practice Summit was held at Purdue University， Indiana. The purpose of the summit is to connect leading researchers in STEM education with educators who are engaged in STEM education both k-2schools and higher education. More than 200 scholars， principals， and teachers from all over the world attended the conference. This summit contained nearly one hundred speeches， discussed the STEM education planning for the next ten years. In this article， we summarize the key topics of this summit from different aspects such as curriculum plan， development， implementation， evaluation， professional development， and supporting system. We also elaborate STEM research topics in the following ten years. Absorbing the beneficial experience of this summit is conducive to promoting the STEM curriculum construction in China and to grasping the research trend in STEM education.
