英文摘要 | The study explored the influence of parental accompany on children?s self-worth and if such influence is different for migrant children and urban children by surveying 436 migrant and urban elementary students in Grade 4-6. The results showed that: (1) the overall parental accompany was at the middle- upper level,and mother?s accompany outperformed significantly fathers(2) urban children’s parental accompany and sef-worth were signiiicantly higher than theirmigrant peers' (3) parental accompany in all four dimensionswas signiiicantly and positively correlated to children'sel--worth. Moreover,the correlation coeficients between mother?s accompany (in terms of parenting and learning) and children?s ^el--worth were signiticantly higher than that of father’s; and (4) parental accompany signiticantly predicted chi ldren?s ^el--worth in both urban and migrant groups: overall,there i s no difference in the inlluence of parental accompany on both groups’ sel-worth, and the inlluence of urban mother?s company on their children?s sel--worth were significantly higher than that of father?s. Parental accompany were closely related to children?s sel--worth development. It s found that the path coefficient of mother?s accompany to children' sel-worth was generally higher than that of father' and thiswas especially the case for urban children,and father' accompany could be more significant formigrant children. |
