Secondary School Students' Learning Power: Construct，Types and Influential Factors

This study aimed to investigate the construct，characteristics，types and influential factors of learning power of secondary school students by surveying a sample of 1882 secondary school students in Beijing. The findings show that： 1) the learning power consisted of tive factors， i e.， critical learning， constructive learning，learning relationship，learning strategies and learning resilience，which demonstrated that secondary school students had relatively stable psychological construct； 2) the results of cluster analysis show that there were four types of student learning power， namely， highly motivated learners， persistent but rote learners， easily frustrated learners，and learners left behind; 3) family economic capita l， cultural capital， parents' expectation， and parents' support could signiticantly predict students' learning power. The earning power of secondary schoo l students is a multidimensiona l and stable psychological construct，and the influence of family factors on secondary school students' learning power should be paid more attention.
