The Level of Scientific Research of Master Students and Its Impact on Employment: A Survey of Students in Eight Universities

The level of scientific research is the key element to evaluate the comprehensive quality of master students and the quality of postgraduate education. The survey shows that the level of scientific research of master students is extremely low， and there are hardly any high-level scientific achievements. Besides， the research activities of master students display strong dependence and inadequate independence. Regression analysis shows that master students' participation in academic exchange and social investigation have positive influences on their employment， while paper publication and leading research projects have little influence on their employment. However， participation in mentor's research projects in a moderate way is conducive to the employment of master students. Based on the aforementioned findings， the paper puts forward several suggestions on the enhancement of scientific research and employment for master students.
