How to Make the Academic Board Works? An Action Research in Building and Operating the Academic Board in a High School
Knowledge choice and restructure is brought into schools in the context of curriculum reform. Teachers are then encouraged to do some research to meet the challenges instead of simply following the national teaching guidelines. Correspondingly， institutional settings adopted to the research action are needed to parallelize the bureaucracy system. This article describe the origin， assumption， plan and implementation in building the academic board in a high school and 3 conclusions are reached by action research. They are: academic board indicates a new leadership in high school， which significantly different from the traditional bureaucracy system in the ways of “soft” powers， like social norms， professional spirits and dialogue ethics， etc.. The space and mechanism of the academic board empowered have changed obviously from the stage of designing to implementation， which reflects an evolution nature in the process; “dialogue and communication” as key skills in inspiring deep thinking among teachers are not clearly recognized by the academic board yet， which still pay much attention on the monitoring and evaluation.
