英文摘要 | As a great proletariat revolutionist, politician and theorist, Mao Zedong had published abundant, original and profound statements on education throughout the entirety of his life, leaving valuable heritage of educational thought. Most importantly? his main arguments on the nature, value, aim and fundamental principles of education and related intellectual issues embody the social,popular,egalitarian, revolutionary and practical character distinctively, which are dramatically different from the statements made by the past and contemporary educationalists. As for the methodology of his educational arguments,Mao Zedong usually makes use of holisticism, historical materialism, practical ontology, as well as a nationalistic approach, based on the standpoint of Chinese revolution and construction. Historically,Mao Zedong’s arguments on education and his methodology had generated many direct and great influences on Chinese educational practices during the New Democratic Period and especially during the era of socialist construction from the beginning of 1956. Against the current social context, rethinking Mao Zedong’s heritage of educational thought would have two-fold significance. It would be helpful to understand the intricate and distinctive road to realize educational modernization. It also provides a mirror for current policy-makers, researchers and educators to design and promote future education reform and innovation. |
