英文摘要 | The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) is an intergovernmental organization to encourage the development and sharing of open learning/distance education knowledge, resources and technologies. There are 53 member states. COL sticks to learning for sustainable development and focuses on two major topics, namely education and health life. The greatest impact is in supporting efforts to give the Commonwealth’s citizens more access to quality education and training through open, distance and e-learning. As the current President and Chief Executive Officer Professor, Asha Kanwar is one of the world’s leading advocates of learning for development. She devotes herself to prompting the projects of COL and the openness of quality resources. In 2009, she was awarded the Personal excellence award by the International Council for Open and Distance Education. And in 2014, she was awarded the Meritorious Service Award by the Asian Association of Open Universities. On the first International Conference on ICT and Post-2015 Education was organized in Qingdao by The UNESCO and The Government of the People’s Republic of China on 23-25 May 2015, Professor Asha Kanwar gave a speech about “Universal Access to Quality Content” and was the chairman of session of “Creating and sharing content: OER and digital textbooks”. During the conference, the International Comparative Studies Center for ICT in education conducted a in-depth interview of Professor Asha Kanwar. She explained the new challenge called “3Cs” of the future about the quality education, effective use of ICT for quality learning and equity in education. Because of the development of society, the definition of learning is changing. The goal has become “learning for sustainable development”. ICT is playing the more and more important role in transforming education. Global organizations need make efforts to provide more appropriate, more available and more accessible technology and resources. |
