“远离留学”还是“远离美国留学”———日本人海外留学人数递减的原因探讨

“Aversion to Studying Abroad”or“Aversion to Studying in the US”: Exploring Causes of Decline in the Number of Japanese Studying Abroad

近年来，日本“远离留学”成为一种社会现象，并已引起广泛的关注和研究。而在“远离留学”的潮流里，日本人赴美国留学人数的成倍减少尤为突出。但日本人究竟是“远离留学”，还是“远离美国留学”，并没有引起日本学界的足够重视和专门研究。本文首先揭示日本远离美国留学的现象，进而从国家政策、经济情况、高等教育制度等方面分析日本人赴海外留学，尤其是赴美国留学人数逐年递减的原因。

In recent years，“aversion to studying abroad”has become a social phenomenon in Japan，and attracted a lot of researchers’attention． Meanwhile，the number of Japanese studying in the United States has reduced by half in the last decade． Is this“aversion to studying abroad”or“aversion to studying in the United States”? Not many researchers have noticed or researched the issue． Based on examination of national policies， economic conditions and higher education systems，this study attempts to analyze causes of“aversion to studying abroad”，especially“aversion to studying in the United States”．
