英文摘要 | Manyresearchers, such as Kaplan (1976), Connor (1996) and Hyland (2003) have found that L2 learners, particularly Asian students write research papers which often seem “rnclear” or “)ut of focus” to the native reader,because they tend to employ a rhetoric and a mode of thinking which are not accepted by the Western academic community. This research explores the students’ self-evaluation and their perceived chaienges and rhetoric problems in academic writing through a questionnaire survey,an interview and a final paper analysis. The resutt shows that Chinese culture influences the students,to a great extent,in their pattern of rhetoric and way of thinking. |
