英文摘要 | This paper mainly discusses the concept of "general education" in Chinese——the texts of "Tong" and "Shi" based on the Chinese ancient literature. It reveals that these two texts represent a unique Chinese culture attribute and proves that they have a clear directivity and irreplaceable generalization. Using these Chinese texts ——"Tong" and "Shi" to define can assist in developing new modern higher education thoughts which have been indigenized in China. According to literature, this paper also illustrates that the name of "Tong Shi" was created as a concept to comply with the urge of internal need of modernization of Chinese universities, as well as a concept containing both historical continuity and worldwide significance. |
