Hodgkinson is the main advocator of humanistic education administration． His thought is an art of administration，developed on the basis of criticism of previous organization and management theories and in accordance with the relevant philosophy，humanities and education organization life characteristics． In his eyes， administration is a praxis subject; value is at the core of leadership; leadership is a moral art; and educational leader training should be based on philosophy． His thought attempts to integrate“science and art”，“fact and value”，and“theory and practice”，and has become an important theoretical source of educational administration practice innovation．
