英文摘要 | Using data from the China Family Panel Studies ( CFPS ) in 2010 , we studied the effects of domestic migration in China on the emotional well-being of children between the ages of 10 and 15. We compared five sample groups : ( a ) rural children with local resident status living with both parents ; ( b ) urban children with local resident status living with both parents ; ( c ) children accompanying their migrant parent ( s ) ; ( d ) left-behind children living with one parent while the other works ; and ( e ) children left behind or sent to live with other relatives while both parents work. We assumed the last three groups to be at risk of increased emotional difficulties compared to those children living with both parents. We tested this assumption through both a conventional regression model and a community fixed- effects model. The result suggests that our assumption is inconsistent with the results , which leads us to conclude that within the Chinese context , family arrangements have little impact on the emotional well-being of children. |
