The World is Open: An Interpretation and Development Forecast of MOOCs

科蒂斯·邦克（Curtis J. Bonk）现任美国印第安纳大学教学系统技术系教授，同时也参与认知科学项目研究并兼职于印第安纳大学情报学院。他曾获印第安纳大学信息技术协会数字化新星奖、美国远程学习协会最佳成就奖、印第安纳州远程教育教学创新奖。2012-2014年，他连续三年被Education Next 及Education Week杂志评选为教育领域的卓越贡献者。2014年，他还荣获远程教育领域Mildred B. 及 Charles A. Wedemeyer 杰出实践奖。20世纪80年代初，邦克教授曾任威斯康辛州注册会计师和公司财务总监；80年代后期，于美国威斯康辛大学麦迪逊分校（University of Wisconsin-Madison）获得教育心理学的硕士和博士学位；1989-1992年，在美国西弗吉尼亚大学（West Virginia University）任教三年；1992-2005年，任职于印第安纳大学教育心理学系；2005年7月至今，工作于教学系统技术系（Instructional Systems Technology Department）。鉴于邦克教授企业管理、会计、教育心理学以及教学技术的多重背景，他对商科、教育学、心理学及技术的交叉融合提出了许多独特的见解。作为新兴的技术学习领域的一位权威专家，科蒂斯·邦克曾在世界各地进行1400多次有关网络学习的演讲。此外，他发表和编著了300多篇文章和出版物，主题涵盖在线教育、混合式学习、大规模在线课程（MOOCs）、大规模多人在线游戏、Wiki图书、博客、开源软件、协作学习技术，以及同步和异步计算机会议等。2012年春季学期，邦克教授还在CourseSites平台上教授了一门近4000人参与的在线课程。

Integrating social networking， accessible online resources， and building on the engagement of learners who self-organize their participation according to learning goals， prior knowledge， and common interests， it is commonly believed that the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is having a significant impact on worldwide education. For this reason， the author interviewed MOOCs expert Curtis J. Bonk， and discussed about MOOCs’ current situation and future development. In this interview， we have firstly defined what is MOOC and its features. Then， we have developed our discussion on three basic questions: (1) What are the roles of learners and teachers in MOOCs? (2) What are the problems in the process of the development of MOOCs? (3) In the next decade， how will the development of MOOCs in China be? From our discussion of MOOCs， we conclude that MOOC will be a good solution to education challenge， and MOOC is a suitable platform to teach and learn.
