随着教育信息化和高等教育教学改革的推进，高校教育技术机构面临着新的职能定位。文章通过对南通大学现代教育技术中心建设和发展的考察，提出高校现代教育技术机构应该是肩负建设、服务、管理、教学和科研五大职能的综合性机构。其中，建设与服务是立身之本，是基础；教学与科研是强身之路，是两翼；管理是教育技术推广应用的重要推手，是龙头。夯实基础，强壮两翼，抓住龙头，五位一体，均衡发展，才是高校教育技术事业可持续发展的必由之路。

With the advance of education informationization and higher education reform， the institutions of educational technology in colleges and universities are faced with new orientation of functions. Taking the construction and development of modern educational technology center in Nantong University as the example， this essay summarizes that the institutions of modern educational technology in colleges and universities should be the comprehensive teaching and administration agencies with five functions.They are construction， service， management， research and teaching. Among these functions， construction and service are the basis just like the body; teaching and research are the impetus just like the two wings; management is the traction just like the brain. These five functions are Interrelated and in the balanced development. They are unified and each one can not be neglected.
