An Exploration of the Learning Process of Successful Aging Retirees

因應高齡社會的來臨，教育部頒布「老人教育政策白皮書」，希望高齡者透過學習得以促進高齡者的心理、生理與社會的健康。本研究目的主要是探討成功老化者退休後的學習歷程，包括從學習意識的建立、學習行動的投入與反思，以及獲得學習成果的歷程。為達到研究目的，研究者採用質性研究的方法，針對30位成功老化者，進行一對一半結構式的深度訪談。研究結果顯示：一、退休後的學習意識是透過積極規劃退休生活、同儕引導與自我反思的過程逐漸形成；二、受訪者參與的學習活動多元，並從學習行動中反思人生的意義；三、透過多元學習活動的參與，有助於受訪者達到成功老化；四、成功老化者在學習歷程中呈現五種學習類型。

Faced with an increasingly aging society, Taiwan's Minister of Education published an “Education Policy for the Elderly White Paper” to promote older adults' physical, mental and social health through continued learning. This study aims to explore the learning process of successful aging retirees, including their awareness of the opportunities for continued learning, the actions they take to continue their learning, and their learning outcomes. The researchers adopted a qualitative approach and conducted one-on-one semi-structured in-depth interviews with 30 successful retirees. It was found that (1) awareness of continued learning opportunities after retirement is promoted by retirement planning, the guidance of one's peers and self-reflection; (2) retirees tend to reflect on the meaning of life by participating in many diverse learning activities; (3) diverse learning activities enhance the interviewees' ability to age successfully. Finally, five learning patterns followed by successful aging retirees are identified.
