The Oxford Tutorial System in the Context of the World Economic Crisis: Where Is The Way Out?

在经济危机的冲击下，牛津大学的导师制该何去何从？这是一个值得深思的话题。本文从财政紧缩、资源分配方式改革和科研至上三个角度来分析经济危机对牛津大学导师制的影响。本文认为：虽然牛津大学极力维持导师制，但在经济危机的冲击下，导师制也变得比较脆弱。在经济危机时代，导师制究竟该如何进行改革或完善，牛津大学似乎还不能给出一个确切的答案。

In the context of the world economic crisis, where is the way out for the tutorial system in Oxford University? This is a question worthy of thinking about. This paper analyzes the impact of the world economic crisis on the Oxford tutorial system from the following three dimensions: economic constraint, the reform of resource allocation method within the university and research-oriented policies. It argues that impacted by the global economic crisis, the Oxford tutorial system becomes substantially fragile, even though Oxford University has tried hard to maintain its tradition of excellent teaching. Yet, the University has not offered a proper answer about howto reform and improve the tutorial systemin the situation of economic recession.
