跨文化教育的公共價值與社會責任：國際學生在臺求學經驗與未來規劃之研究

Public Value and Social Responsibility in Intercultural Higher Education: A Study of International Students’ Learning Experiences and Future Plans in Taiwan

本研究以跨文化教育之公共價值與社會責任為視角，探討國際學生在臺求學之就讀動機、生活感受、文化適應與未來規劃。研究採混合研究設計，問卷調查250人，並訪談六位不同國籍學生。研究結果顯示，國際學生來臺就讀動機主要源於跨文化學習期待及對臺灣友善環境之肯定；而其生活感受呈現生活機能便利，但飲食習慣與宗教文化需求支持仍有不足。文化適應方面，部分學生在跨文化互動歷程中逐漸發展複合性跨文化認同。相關分析顯示，文化適應與未來規劃之關聯最高，反映良好跨文化經驗與跨國發展意向密切相關。本研究凸顯高等教育機構應強化文化可近性、多元文化尊重、社會融合支持與跨文化能力培育，以落實國際化教育之公共價值與社會責任。

Drawing on the perspectives of public value and social responsibility in intercultural education, this study examines international students’ motivations for studying in Taiwan, living experiences, cultural adaptation, and future plans. A mixed-methods design was adopted, involving a questionnaire survey of 250 international students and interviews with six students from different countries. The findings indicate that students’ primary motivations for studying in Taiwan were their expectations of intercultural learning experiences and positive perceptions of Taiwan as a friendly social environment. Although students generally appreciated Taiwan’s convenient living environment, support for dietary adaptation and religious and cultural needs remained insufficient. Regarding cultural adaptation, some students gradually developed an integrated intercultural identity through their intercultural interactions. Correlation analysis further showed that cultural adaptation had the strongest association with future plans, suggesting that positive intercultural experiences are closely related to intentions for transnational development. This study highlights the need for higher education institutions to strengthen cultural accessibility, multicultural respect, social integration support, and intercultural competence development in order to fulfill the public value and social responsibility of international education.
