| 英文摘要 | Amid the rapid transformation of the global economy and society, the focus of discussions on gender and leadership has gradually shifted. Since the 1970s, academic literature has shown a trend from emphasizing differences between males and females to promoting diversity and inclusion. This article examines the advantages and challenges faced by males and females in all diversity in educational leadership, and introduces recent international gender equality initiatives, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and CEDAW general recommendations No. 36 and 40. These serve as benchmarks for current developments in gender and leadership within education. Today gender imbalance still persists in the current state of educational leadership in Taiwan– particularly within higher education. A gender equality perspective to leadership that aligns with international human rights treaties and fosters all-inclusive leadership for gender-transformative results, is becoming increasingly important in Taiwan’s educational governance. |
