中文摘要 | 語料庫在教學中的應用日益普及,但專業翻譯領域的語料庫並不常見。本論文受李德超和王克非在雙語旅遊語料庫的研究(2010,2011)所啟發,基於香港政府資助的一個項目,展開論述。該項目名為「英漢雙語實用翻譯語料庫」,所創建的平台可能是世界上首個用於教學的英漢雙語平行語料庫,內容涵蓋公共關係和商業文本。語料庫向公眾開放,尤其是香港乃至所有華語社群的教師和學生。他們可以利用這個平台,從範例文本中學習相關領域最新的知識、專業術語、語言風格和文本特點。學生可以借助該平台的多功能,進行獨立學習或小組討論,隨時隨地研習各種翻譯策略。本文將敘述「英漢雙語實用翻譯語料庫」從2020年12月至2022年6月的開發歷程,應對困難的策略,語料庫的使用情況,以及用戶反饋。透過這研究案例,期望為其他語言的專業翻譯語料庫構建提供借鑒。

英文摘要 | The pedagogical use of corpora is becoming more popular, but corpora for specialised translation are less common. Inspired by Li and Wang’s works (2010, 2011), this study is based on a project funded by a government grant in Hong Kong. The project is named English and Chinese Bilingual Corpus of Practical Translation. It is probably the first English/Chinese bilingual parallel corpus with Public Relations and business texts for pedagogical purposes in the world. It is open to the public, and allows teachers and students all over Hong Kong (and other Chinese-speaking communities) to use the platform to learn from the sample texts for the recent knowledge, technical terms, language style, and text formats in the relevant fields. Students could also learn from the translation strategies through the diverse functions of the platform anytime, anywhere, individually or collectively for discussion. This paper will narrate the process of the development of the corpus (December 2020–June 2022), the difficulties encountered, the uses of the corpus, and the user feedback. It could serve as a reference for corpus-building projects for other specialised translation fields in other language combinations. |
